Blogs
Bogs are fairly easy to write. I thought they were going to be complicated at first but honestly, you can write anything you wanna write. Most of my blogs are completely random. In a way, that makes them more fun. As I sit here writing them, I wonder what I am actually writing and better yet, why I am writing them. I guess I am writing them because it is a requirement, but why do I pick the topics that I choose?
Buggies
Buggies at walmart have got to be the nastiest things ever. Have you ever thought about all the germs you are coming in contact with? Everyone has touched those things. They have been outside in the weather and there is no telling what you are touching! Babies drool on them and others who are sick cough and then push them around. Germ-X and sanitizing spray should be used to clean them once they are brought in from the parking lot.
Summer Job
I am debating on getting a job this summer while I am living in Hattiesburg. I already have a waitressing job on the weekends back home but I will be living up here all summer long with nothing to do during the week. So should I get a job or not? If I do, what kind of job should I get? I do not want a demanding type of job where my studies will be hindered. I may just work where I live or possibly at Buckle. Truthfully, I have no idea what I am going to do.
the Beach
I am dying to go to the beach! I did not get the chance to go last summer so the itch is killing me. I am attending summer school both June and July but I will definitely make time to go to the beach at least once this summer! Maybe I can go before summer school actually starts? That will be great if so. I do know however, that I will be thoroughly disappointed if I do not get to. The beach is just a mini escape for me to get away without traveling forever away.
Southern
So I am almost officially done with my first year of college. This year has gone by super fast. I never thought I was ever going to reach this point in my life, but now I am here and moving on the next year of school. I hope I have done well in all of my classes and will meet the requirements for nursing school here. I am very pleased with my decision to come to Southern and look forward to the rest of my college years here!
LSU
Louisiana State University is huge!! I have only been to the college for literary rallies and such but every time I go, I get lost. I considered going to LSU when I was trying to decide on a college to attend. However, after going there and getting lost in only the freshman quad, I knew that it was not for me! Even though I am a major fan of the tigers, especially since I am from Louisiana, I just cannot see myself going to school there. Also, I feel like LSU is alittle overrated. Yes, the academic program is good there, but it just seems like the athletic departments get more accreditation.
iphone
I have an Apple iPhone. It is by far my favorite cell phone that I have ever had. It is like having a mini computer in your hand at any time you may need it. It comes in very handy when you are lost or when you just need to check your email or something online quickly. I never thought I would appreciate this phone that much, but it has proven me wrong. I had about three other phones before this one, but none of them compares to the things the iPhone allows you to do.
Library
The library has been packed this entire week. Also I have never realized how big the Cook Library is. It is pretty massive. however, I have only been on the first two floors. One day I guess I need to at least go all the way to the top floor, which is the fifth. Maybe next semester. Honestly, I only come to the library to study. I really have no clue how to research a book or anything. The Library website just confuses me even more.

wish
I wish I could just be a careless young girl and do whatever it is I may want to do whenever I wish to do it. Yet, I can't! I have to go to colllege and make good grades to be able to be successful in life. I want too many things and need large sums of money to be able to get these things. So unless I get lucky and find billions of dollars or marry an extremely wealthy man, I am stuck going to USM and working on getting my degree. Luckily, I don't mind school too much, but I would like to be spending my time else where for sure!
My Name
So I would have to say I have a rather weird name. Of course that is in my opinion. For some strange reason my parents decided to name me Kendra. According to my mother, she was debating between Katie or Kendra. Why couldn't she just be normal and name me a common name? Yes, I like my very uncommon name, but I would have to say I do receive some very odd looks when my name is asked. I guess I am getting used to those looks though due to the fact that my name will always forever more be "Kendra."
Procrastination
I am a major procrastinator. According to my roommate, I am one the best procrastinators she has ever seen. I try to stay organized and usually know when all of my assignments are due, but I can't seem to get them done early. It would be so much easier and less hectic if I would just do them early and be done. Yet, I am still going to be staying up all night doing my assignments last minute. Procrastination is a terrible habit of mine and it definitely needs to be broken!!
Starbucks Coffee
I am a huge fan of starbucks coffee. My all time favorite drink would have to be a white chocolate mocha frappuccino. They are the absolute best thing ever. Unfortunately, they are super fattening especially if you leave the whipped cream on top. In my opinion the whipped cream is one of the best parts of the drink. I try not to drink alot of coffee but sometimes I just can't help it! It is way too tempting to be studying in the library and that close to starbucks. So of course, I have to get at least get one drink while I am studying away!

Finals
I have my first final this Friday. It's a psychology final and I haven't started studying yet. I have done pretty well in the class though and I hope I can do well on this last test. It's non-cumulative so I think I should be okay as long as I start studying by tomorrow. My other finals are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. I am more worried about those. My biology final will impact my grade more than any other final. I am terrified to take it. I plan to begin studying for it tomorrow so that then I will have a week of studying behind me before I have to take it.
second semester
My second semester of college definitely flew by! I think things went alot smoother and I easily adjusted to my school work better than last semester. I liked all of my teachers. I just hope I did well in all of my classes. My first semester seemed very hectic. So I was glad that this one went so much better! Hopefully, the rest of my semesters at Southern will go by like this past one!

Biology
I am taking a biology class this semester. The lab for the class was rather easy. However, I am doing terrible in the class. I attend every class meeting and take notes but I just can't seem to do well on my tests. I have received extremely low grades on my tests and fear that they will impact my final grade drastically. I study and try to prepare myself to the best of my ability but I just can not seem to get it together for this class. My teacher is really nice but confusing at times. Maybe I just need to study more. I just hope that I can make a C or better in this class or I will be stuck retaking the class to better my chances of getting into nursing school here at southern.

Book Reports
I have an upcoming book report due this week. However, I have not wrote a book report since about the fifth grade. It is required to be around four to five pages, but I have no idea how I am going to be able to stretch the report out. The book we are required to read is called Night by Elie Weisel. It is a recollection of conditions and situations faced by a boy and his family who are Jews during the second World War. I am not quite finish reading the book. Thankfully, the book is somewhat interesting and keeps me eager to read more rather than boring me out of my mind. Hopefully, I can finish up this assignment and do well on it!

my computer
My computer is such a hassle. It has a problem with the power cord adapter and hardly ever charges. I have only had my computer for about a year and rarely used it until recently. Now I have discovered that is it way too big for packing around campus and needs a better battery. It has also feels the need to freeze up on me and is incredibly slow at times. Unfortunately, I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to fixing computers so it appears that I am stuck with these problems at least for the next 6 years or until I can afford a new and better computer!

Volleyball
Volleyball is a very intense sport. I like to play it recreational wise, but not as a serious sport. I try to play decent and do my best. Yet, I still pretty much suck, along with any other attempt I make at trying to play sports. However, playing just for fun is a great way to spend time with your family and friends without getting in to any trouble. Maybe by some miracle I will become athletic one day, but I highly doubt that. I guess I will just have to keep putting up an effort and try my absolute best not to embarrass myself!!

Spring Break
Spring break is almost here. Only one more week and then i get five whole days off from school. Unfortunately, I am not going to the beach or anywhere, but I will able to relax and enjoy my break. I am not sure what I will be doing over the week, but I do know that it will involve getting some sun and catching up on some much needed sleep. I may even try to get ahead in some of my classes by doing some assignments early. Who knows? I am just ready for it to get here!!!

Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras is basically just a huge party. It is maily celebrated in the south but some other states do participate by offering their own variation of mardi gras. Parade, beads, obscene sites, and more can all be witnessed within just a few hours of the "party." In New Orleans, the party is absolutely wild! I haven't been to many parades in the crescent city, but the few that I have been to, consisted of some shocking events. Although mardi gras can be a large amount of fun, it can also be rather dangerous. Crimes often happen as people become intoxicated and bumped in large crowds. Yes, mardi gras is fun, but one must take caution.

Skiing
Skiing is a very intense sport. People who do it often make it look so easy. However, one is easily deceived by looks. It is actually a tough sport to master and takes some time. When you do get the hang of it, it proves to be quite enjoyable. I love to ski but the weather is much different from the warm humid weather in Louisiana that I am used to. With temperatures as low as eight degrees, skiing downhill at a fast pace may not seem like fun, but as long as you do not crash it is. Skiing is definitely a favorite thing of mine to do. I strongly suggest that one should do it at least once in their lifetimes. The scenery is also a plus to this sport. Some of the most beautiful scenery is seen here. I love how the sun beams on the mountain tops. Skiing is a great way to vacation and is very enjoyable.

Best Friends
Best friends are hard to find. Growing up, you meet new people all the time. However, trying to find people who you can trust and who will stand by you is extremely difficult and often rare. I have some close friends but only a few who I can be totally honest with. They are my best friends and we probably couln't make it through some things if it wasn't for each of us. We are so tight knit, that we could be sisters. At college, friends usually go to the same schools as one another. I, on the otherhand, went the complete opposite way from all of mine. It's hard at times but luckily I have met some really nice people and they help to make the transition alot better. Friends come and go but true friends will stick by your side no matter what!

Inauguragtion of Barack Obama
01/22/09
Obama took an oath of office and became the 44th President of the United States of America. The Inauguration had the largest turnout of spectators since Reagan was sworn in. I was amazed at the number of people that faired the chilly weather to watch history being made. Obama spoke eloquently and encouraged us to take action to turn our economy around. Even though he messed up a little on the oath, Obama delivered a strong speech. Hopefully, he will accomplish his goals prove to America that they made the right choice.

My Future
01/14/09
My future is unknown. I had dreams of becoming a nurse and starting a family. Yet, now I have no idea what I would really like to do. Deciding a profession is a huge step and I would like to make the right one. However, I am scared that I will not make the choice that is correct for me. What if I decide to do something and then find out later it's not what I really wanted or saw for my future? Can I switch? Am I capable of even making that big of a life altering decision? So many questions, but all of them are unanswered. I agree, life is about taking chances, but it is also about having enough courage to take that first step towards that chance. Maybe I will find that courage and will-power to fullfil my goals towards my future. Unfortunately, life is a mystery and only time will tell.
